Kinga lives in a village in central Poland, where she created her label Mimikra, inspired by biology and the natural world surrounding her home. She studied silversmithing at Wytwornia Antidotum in Warsaw, Poland, and is a member of the Polish silver- and goldsmithing association STFZ. Despite being present on the market for a few years only, she managed to create a distinctive style that was recognized at a number of design fairs.
Statement
I specialize in large and spatial pieces. I am inspired by mimicry, a biological phenomenon when helpless creatures assume threatening shapes to appear dangerous to predators - thus my label's name Mimikra. Karl Blossfeldt’s plant portraits and Haeckel’s intricate drawings are also an endless source of ideas for my designs.- Mail:
