Linor Goralik

Jeweller
Published: 29.04.2024

Bio

Linor Goralik lives and works in Israel, Ramat Gan (near Tel-Aviv). She studied Mathematics and Computer Science at the Beer-Sheva University of the Negev, and it formed her thinking in many ways. She is a jeweller, an artist and a writer (I write in Russian, English and Hebrew).

As an artist, she explores various mediums, ranging from paper to polymer clay, and from wood to silver, across multiple formats such as graphics and jewelry. This diverse background informs her jewelry creations, as she often incorporates elements borrowed from these different materials. She had multiple personal exhibitions, and the latest one was called Dressing Demons, where she made almost 100 objects - letters, clothes, pandora dolls, drawings, etc - to illustrate the way people dress in hell.

Linor Goralik is also a fashion theory researcher and constant contributor to the Fashion Theory Magazine (Russia); her major subject is everyday costume and its interconnection with identity issues, as well as transgressive fashion.

Statement

The only thing that interests me as an artist is the dynamic between everyday human life and inanimate objects. Text can help. Every day and familiar materials can help. Silver, - in all its simplicity and preciousness combined, - can help. And I accept this help with much, much gratitude.
