Statement
Małgorzata Kalińska has a well-established position on the Polish jewellery designers scene, and thanks to many competitions and prestigious exhibitions abroad, she is also recognised internationally. Her jewellery work is appreciated for conceptual freshness, the courage of the experiment, refined form, fascinations and skilful handling of the light, noble and subtle minimalism, and reuse of non-obvious jewellery materials (ready-made, up-recycling). These original, well thought and perfectly executed objects are valued by both experts and numerous users due an unusual finesse and poetry./ Zbigniew Kraśka Director and Curator of The Gallery of Art in Legnica
Personality
In my latest work, I explore the phenomenon of intentionality and unintentionality in the context of the human condition in the modern world. At large, how Human manifests its superficialities in opposition to spirituality. I am interested in creating minimalist and abstract objects subtly suggesting their source of origin. The Rotomolding technique allows me to create objects that are lightweight, naturally shaped, with the element of a chance and unexpectantly that is careful, calculated in the process of creation. Every design holds a secret inside and in some objects, I have designed a tiny peeping hole that will help you to discover it. I find this an adequate reference to human spirituality.
