In order to enrich and intensify our perception of reality in a world that has been over- saturated by impersonal objects, it is essential that we recover our ability to stare in awe and wonder at the seemingly insignificant. The jewels that Monzó creates from scratch share some of this strange, experienced, yet shunned beauty of the objet trouvé. Thus we find that his painted brooches have suffered an aggression of some kind - a life experience- in a series of deep scratches or incisions, drafted by the jeweller with exquisite delicacy, despite their brutal appearance / Mònica Gaspar
