Maria Constanza Bielsa graduated as an architect in Santiago de Chile and studies for a Diploma in Sustainable Architecture at the Catholic University. She studied Jewelry at the Claudia Correa School, Pamela de la Fuente School and specific courses with Carles Codina and Jorge Castañón. She currently works as an architect and also in her Goldsmith's workshop, where she designs and produces jewelry. In parallel, she is the director of the ORNAMENTAL Jewelry experimentation area, at Fab Lab Santiago. She is also a teacher in the "New Media" course at Pamela de la Fuente School. From Ornamental, she seeks to rethink the concept of materiality and the way to build a piece of jewelry. This space allows her to explore materials, such as textiles, paper, bioplastics and to cross them with digital technologies. She has participated in group and solo exhibitions in Poland, Barcelona, Italy, Germany, Argentina, and Chile. In 2020 she was awarded by National Design Funding with the project called "Contemporary jewelry collection, textile reuse, and digital fabrication technologies".

One of my main concerns to express myself is deeply linked to the exploration of creative processes, from simple pieces to cutting-edge contemporary jewelry. To have possibilities to speak from dreams, concepts, interpretations, observation or current problems build strong scopes to traduce them into real things, touchable and connected to multiple senses like portable small sculptures.
My research is focused and inspired by mother earth. Every single detail from nature gives us a gift, valuable deep learning. Observing nature can open horizons to face our social-environmental crisis, we can learn how nature transforms matter, how nature does not generate waste. My manifest is to generate beauty from waste materials, to transform them into jewels and make them reborn, then small spaces to re-think ourselves are open.
