Statement
I generally work with the idea of a memory, or the memory of an idea. It is in the way it happens that I find inspiration from. For me this recollection happens within the contradiction of filling an absence that can’t be filled any more. With my work I try keeping track of things that can no longer be kept, but in this way I can hold on to them.My pieces are mainly metal based, but I integrate elements such as : etched text, transfered or printed images, textiles and natural fiber; as they are these elements, that by relating to them I am drawn back to that instant that I can recall and were everything in my work starts from. Jewelry pieces complete themselves when they are held in the body. Each piece by relating to the body, brings memories to the present.
I don’t see memory as an accurate recollection of events; rather a selective process of preserving. But the things that touch us, which mark our lives are well kept in our memories and help us relate to the present and looking into the future.
We do not remember days, we remember moments. The richness of life lies in memories we have forgotten.
/ Cesare Pavese
About Inner Landscapes
This series is shaped by the combination of materials, creating through art and embarking on a personal journey. A canvas where fabric intertwines with watercolours, bringing my thoughts and emotions to life. This creative journey is not just self-expression; it's a profound exploration within.
I paint imaginary paths through woods and mountains, the tactile fabric grounding my thoughts while watercolors add depth to my emotions. This process liberates me, whether in nature's embrace or within my own space. These Innerlandscapes mirror my evolving self, reminding me of the beauty in self-discovery."
