Bio
Sharon Massey is a jeweler and enamellist based near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the US. She received an MFA in metal design from East Carolina University in 2006 and she currently teaches jewelry + metals at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Sharon’s work evolves in series and usually involves experimental approaches to steel and enamel with an emphasis on sculptural form, process and wearability. Sharon’s work will be included in Schmuck 2026, and she was included in the exhibition in 2014 and 2015 as well. In 2025 she had a solo exhibition at Jewelers' Werk Galerie in Washington DC called Fringe.Statement
My newest body of work, Fringe, is a celebration of experiential jewelry featuring repetition, color and movement in steel and enamel. Working in lightweight steel allows the work to be substantial but still wearable. The jewelry and objects are adorned with individual enameled fringe components that shimmer and color-shift as the pieces hang and move. This work is best experienced in person.- Mail:
