Bio
Born in Venice, Italy, in 1969, Verde lives and works in Milan, where she moved in 1982. After graphic design studies at the IED in Milano, since 1990 she has mainly dealt with graphics and communication, working for various publishers and since 1996 for the family publishing company. In 2013, Verde created her first collection of contemporary jewellery, using ropes and brass wires, and in 2014, the first collection of paper jewellery, where small and precious wearable pieces of art with a strong plastic dimension are made with the incredible use of a simple material, such as paper.
Statement
My paper jewellery collections exist at the intersection of design, craftsmanship, and cultural memory. Each piece is entirely handmade by me using fine papers through a slow and deliberate process that values time, precision, and human presence. Paper is not a substitute here: it is the chosen medium, selected for its capacity to hold colour, absorb light, and take on form through the hands alone.I developed an early and deep relationship with form and colour, and they became inseparable in my practice. Colour is a deliberate choice: I research combinations carefully, building vibrant mélange gradations that give each piece visual movement and emotional temperature.
Wearing one of my jewels is less about owning an object than about carrying an experience.
