Intro
Young artist working in the applied arts and technology will have the opportunity to show their work in the international competition TALENTE 2017 in Munich, Germany, during the International Trade Fair for the Skilled Trades from 8th to 14th March 2017.

Talente has been in existence since 1980 (in the early days with a different name). It is a high profile competition for young craftspeople, applied artists, makers, artisans, designers and inventor-technicians from all over the world. Age limit is set at 33 years of age (respectively 35 for the technical applications). The participation is only possible one time. Talente is a competition organized by the Handwerkskammer für München und Oberbayern, dept. Fairs and Exhibitions. The department is responsible for the selection.

The aim of Talente is to promote the idea of skills in the designing and technical trades as well as in the applied arts. Contributions shown at Talente have a high standard. They range from undergraduate to masters level. However, we did show outstanding works from vocational high schools and apprentices too.

Talente takes place as a special exhibition on one of the major trade fairs in Munich/ Germany in March each year, the International Trade Fair. It is publicly funded, return shipment and exhibition is free of charge. A high quality catalogue appears on the opening day of the fair, featuring all participants of the year.

An international jury from the body of international mentors of Talente is invited to select about 8 participants for the Talente Prizes.

In an area of 600 m², the works will be shown to a wide audience, with an international jury selecting the winners of the TALENTE prize. An illustrated catalogue will be published.

Participants are chosen from any section of crafts and technology. They will have made the artefact by their own hands. Age limit is set at 33 in the domains of crafts, and at 35 in the domain of technology.
Deadline for all applications will be the 1st October 2016.

The competition is publicly funded. This covers the space on the fair itself, the catalogue entry and part of the transport of the objects to and from Munich.
