Open Call for the National Crafts Awards 2026

With the National Crafts Awards, the Generalitat de Catalunya wants to reflect the value and importance of crafts in Catalan society and at the same time contribute to giving it maximum prominence and publicly granting each year the recognition that people who have excelled in their work and career and have contributed elements of innovation and prestige to the sector deserve.

Candidacies:
Candidates for these Awards may include individuals, micro-enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises with an operational establishment and/or registered office in Catalonia that develop, or have developed, their activity in the field of crafts, the entities that represent them at a territorial or sectoral level, individuals, public and private entities that have developed prestigious actions in the field of crafts and professionals from other productive sectors that have implemented a common project of relevance with a professional craftsman.
 
Categories
Six categories are established:
- National Craft Award: The overall business career of a person or craft company and their contribution to the sector is rewarded. Candidates must have obtained, prior to submitting their candidacy, the Master Craftsman or Master Craftswoman diploma. This award aims to promote the competitiveness and development of small and medium-sized craft companies, providing them with an award of excellence.
- Young Talent Award:  This award is given to students, recognizing the talent applied to the most viable craft projects from the visual arts and design schools in Catalonia over the last two years.
- Prestigia Award:  This award is given to people, companies, public or private entities that, through their work, have contributed to the prestige and visibility of craftsmanship in society.
- Restaura Award:  This award is given to the people, companies, public or private entities that have carried out the best recovery of heritage elements through the application of artisanal trades.
Emprèn Award:  This award is given to projects linked to crafts that respond to a successful business career combined with a contemporary vision of crafts.
- Best Artistic Work Award: The award is given to the handcrafted work that stands out for its artistic expressiveness, details and finishes, originality, creativity, as well as its ability to transmit emotions.

Awards
- The awards will consist of diplomas that will include the following inscription: National Crafts Awards of the Generalitat de Catalunya, indicating the category, the date of award and the name of the entity, company or person awarded.
- The person or company winning the National Craft Award category will also receive a financial award of seven thousand euros (€7,000.00), a commemorative piece, and activities will be developed to promote their notoriety in the media.
- The winner of the Young Talent Award category will also receive a financial award of one thousand euros (€1,000.00), and a support session for the development of the project.
- The person or company winning the Emprèn Award category will also receive a financial award of two thousand five hundred euros (€2,500.00).
- The winner of the Best Artistic Work Award category will also receive a financial award of one thousand euros (€1,000.00).
- The Jury may propose that the awards be declared void when it considers that there is no candidacy that meets sufficient merit.
- Likewise, the Jury may propose the equal awarding of the prizes if there is a tie in the number of candidates with the highest score.

Applications must be submitted within the deadline established by the annual call and using the standard application form available in the Procedures section of the website of the Generalitat de Catalunya ( https://web.gencat.cat/ca/tramits ), on the corporate processing portal Canal Empresa ( https://canalempresa.gencat.cat ), and on the website of the Consortium of Commerce, Crafts and Fashion of Catalonia ( https://ccam.gencat.cat ).
