Contemporary art has broken the barriers of pure art. Different, even contradictory elements kindle a spark of inspiration and wonderful ideas in art works. Artists create new works through multi-angle, by multi-material, with multi-technology. This trend brings new possibilities to metal arts, and great challenges as well. This exhibition shows the development of contemporary metal arts in recent years. Pushing boundaries and chasing challenges will bring a bright future to metal arts.
This exhibition is a platform for communication between eastern and western metalwork and jewelry art. The theme of exhibition and seminar is: Pushing boundaries ~ chasing challenges. Through the exhibition and seminar we would like to identify metal art today and how to push boundaries from our standing in different culture. Chinese artists would like to explore their own cultural influences in the light of international metal art, its contour, boundaries, lines and definition.
The exhibition will focus on metalwork, art jewelry, and objects. We invite David Clarke(UK), Anders Ljungberg (SE), Chien-Wei Chang (TW), Ingjerd Hanevold (NO),Tore Svensson (SE), Norman Weber (DE), Lino Ichino (JP), Seo Do Sik (Korea) as our jury and some of them are going to give lecture in the seminar. The exhibition will have two parts, the main part includes works from 100 Chinese artists, and a second part will be about 70 invited international artists from 17 counties, mainly from Germany, Sweden, Japan, Korea, UK and USA.
