Between 22nd - 27th of September, Assamblage launches the first edition of ROMANIAN JEWELRY WEEK in an innovative format adapted to the new global conditions. Designer jewelry is revealed to us as a form of art and creative expression during 6 days of exhibitions, conferences, book launches, openings and guided tours which will unfold in the space of Bucharest Cultural Center ARCUB - Hanul Gabroveni and in other six affiliated locations including Assamblage, Galateca, The National Museum of Romanian History, Place of Display, AlbAlb, Dizainăr also being part of the official route of ROJW with exhibitions and dedicated activations.
Romanian Jewelry Week is an annually synthesis of Romanian and international creators of contemporary jewelery with a record number of 150 exhibiting designers from around the world. The event will highlight the collections of over 70 Romanian designers and has as guests over 80 creators, collectives and associations of designers from Portugal, Italy, UK, Greece, Hungary, Switzerland, Canada, Israel, China, Norway and the USA. These include Milano Jewelry Week, PIN - The Contemporary Jewelry Association from Portugal, Budapest Art Jewelry Night, renown contemporary jewelry schools Krama (Athens) and many other surprises.
The designer jewelry conveys very diverse messages, precious and alternative materials, challenges in overcoming the limit of classic jewelry. New meanings, unexpected combinations of materials converge to create surprising perspectives. Visitors will be challenged to repertoire the ideas and preoccupations of a creative community.
