The residency program Objects of Desire - Jewelry as an Eco-message targets mid-career jewellery artists or designers working in the field of contemporary or author jewellery or mid-career visual artists working with the disciplines sculpture or installation or mid-career architects who already work with the medium jewellery or wish to explore its rich potential.

The program explores the potential of the medium jewellery to communicate messages, influence and enrich the public discourse regarding the environment, ecology and sustainability. The program examines and focuses on jewellery which does not only serve as a status symbol, as an object of emotional or material value or as an ornament but is used as an effective communication tool.

The program also explores the creative, conceptual and interdisciplinary possibilities that arise through the use new materials which until recently were considered uninteresting and valueless - such as trash or organic waste or recyclable materials (paper, fabric, e-waste); the program focuses on the international trend of using ethically and environmentally correct gold, silver, precious metals and stones and highlights the cultural elements that influence the value of an object in Greece and worldwide.

During the program, participants go through all stages of design: inspiration, idea, concept, two-dimensional and three-dimensional model), design new work and materialize their ideas by using exclusively trash, organic and / or recyclable materials. At the same time, through presentation exercises and performance workshops, participants explore alternative ways to present and promote their work and understand the impact and role of the jewellery wearer in boosting jewellery's impact and communication potential.

Participation in the workshops program is obligatory for all team members, for the workshops are based on the interaction of and creative interventions by all team members and not on hierarchical teaching.

The completion of the workshop programme is followed by the exhibition of the work created during the Artist Residency. Participants are obliged to give a brief lecture on the issues highlighted by the workshop (for example art and ecology or ethical practices or jewellery trends in the era of ecology etc.) or on their own practice and work on the last day of the Artist Residency or during the exhibition.
