Intro
An exhibition on contemporary jewellery, ecology and sustainability. This first venue was in Dessau, the second venue is in Leipzig.
Jewellery made of plastic or e-waste, edible ingredients, bird feathers or 3D printing: The exhibition WERT/voll (VALUable) focuses on the throwaway culture and reflects on the ecological and socio-economic consequences of our hunger for raw materials.

Artist list

Zeyun Chen, Marion Delarue, Elin Flognman, Yael Friedman, Doerthe Fuchs, Fabiana Gadano, Unk Kraus, Samantha Laddin, Yiping Li, Lital Mendel, Ludwig Menzel, Adriana Radulescu, Loukia Richards, Oliver Rincke, Linda Savineau, Amelie Spitz, Nicole Taubinger, Peter Vermandere, Christoph Ziegler, Daniel von Weinberger
WERT/voll presents twenty selected jewellery artists and designers who challenge our throw-away culture by the conscious use of resources, unconventional materials and upcycling techniques. Over 100 exhibition pieces set an example for sustainability and propose a more careful use of material resources and energy. At the same time, the exhibition addresses the conditions under which raw materials such as gold, silver or rare earth are gained today.

WERT/voll is a cooperation between the artists and curators Loukia Richards and Christoph Ziegler, the German Environment Agency in Dessau and the GRASSI Museum of Applied Arts in Leipzig, Germany.

The exhibition runs from 11 September until 10 October 2019 in the German Environment Agency (Umweltbundesamt) Dessau and from 15 October until 3 November 2019 in GRASSI Museum of Applied Arts in Leipzig. WERT/voll is funded by the German Environment Agency, the scientific branch of the Federal Environment Ministry.
