Part-time lecturer position is open to the public. Applications are invited for an exciting 3-year part-time, 14 hours per week lectureship in Jewellery & Silversmithing in the School of Design at Edinburgh College of Art.
We are seeking candidates who will be a dynamic, creative and effective teacher and scholar, able to contribute leadership and communicate core skills on a range of courses within Jewellery & Silversmithing. The appointee will be able to devise and lead relevant and critical design studios that address contemporary making and design practices. In addition, the post-holder will have the opportunity to contribute to and develop appropriate courses across a range of making traditions and contextual enquiry within Design.
Applicants should hold a PhD (or equivalent research experience) and will be expected to have a commitment to research and the demonstrable potential to deliver high-quality outputs through academic publications, exhibitions and/or innovative design projects.
Evidence of some academic management experience including successful implementation of subject-related initiatives, events and/or projects is an advantage. The post-holders will be expected to contribute to Design pedagogy and research in the School of Design and in the wider context of Edinburgh College of Art at the University of Edinburgh.
Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate their potential to attract and supervise doctoral students pursuing their research by both thesis and by creative practice routes.

The post is part-time (14 hours per week) and open-ended.
Salary: £40,792 to £48,677 per annum pro rata.
