The Faculty of Science Technology and Arts is seeking to appoint a Technician to support its Creative Arts Team based at the City Centre Campus.
The role will be centred around the Jewellery and Metalwork facility with the successful applicant having experience in techniques relevant to the day to day running of the area and the ability to support and advise students on processes, materials, Health and Safety as well as being able to maintain equipment, resources and order materials.
Grade 5 - £22,659 to £26,243 per annum, dependent on experience.

As the Jewellery and Metalwork area is based within the integrated workshops complex an ability to cross boundaries and work on a broad platform in other disciplines would be expected. These areas include general soft modelling and wood workshop, ceramics studio, foundry, laser cutting and rapid prototyping suite. The Creative Team are also involved with exhibition work, the latter occasionally includes off-site work. An ability to use General IT support applications will be also be required by the successful applicant.

With excellent organisational skills you will be able to work effectively as either part of a team or on your own initiative. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with other teams and individuals operating within the Creative Teams area of operation.
