After finished the program in ALCHIMIA, Asami started to making the contemporary art jewelry. And she graduated Master's of fine art at Musashino Art University in Japan. Asami Watanabe especially likes "Straw" as her material. Currently her major achievement is the JOYA Barcelona Award at AUTOR Fair in 2017.
I always think about "LIFE, VITALITY”. "Where is it coming from? What kind of contents is it?" "We are facing the society and surrounding complicate thing. We are fighting with them every single day with own LIFE. And then the power and energy of LIFE come out from my inside and my whole body." "I want to live stronger and keep my essence and mind even if placed in any situation."
I want to express "LIFE, VITAITY" existing in myself as jewelry. And I want you to wear myself, family and friend who became the jewelry. I always feel their existence near my body and want to make jewelry for our HAPPINESS. They will protect you and become your friend, family.
Also, by deeply research about one material, I find out the characteristics and new quality of the material. And I learn it as my own skill and transform into my jewelry. I am researching new shapes and designs born by collecting the same elements such as one material and shape. It is a metaphor of "myself, family and friend", I believe that they will respond to the society and the human being itself. I want to express beauty and energy born from them, with "a lot" being "one" is showing great power.
