Bio
Born in Israel, Einav Benzano is a former theatre actress, director, and educator who has lived and worked in France since the age of 20, specializing and training with renowned masters in theatre, voice, and movement. This background instilled in her a deep understanding of the body as a mediator and a starting point for artistic exploration, a perspective she carries into her work in contemporary jewelry. She pursued a career in performance before turning fully to jewelry. After completing her jewelry design training, she ran her atelier-boutique in Fontevraud-l’Abbaye, Loire Valley, for over 20 years, creating pieces that weave together material, story, and shape. Her work explores jewelry as a space of memory, a meeting point between the visible and the hidden.
She is an educator at the Institut de Bijouterie de Saumur, fostering a contemporary, sensitive, and engaged approach to jewelry, emphasizing experimentation, storytelling, intention, and the dialogue between body, object, and perception.
Through her work, she seeks to reveal untold stories and silent emotions, giving jewelry the power to connect and linger.
Statement
My work emerges in moments of passage — in the fragile space where matter softens, where words hesitate, where identity is no longer fixed but becoming. Forms appear, dissolve, and reassemble, carrying the trace of what has been and the uncertainty of what is still forming.I am drawn to in-between spaces : between presence and disappearance, weight and fluidity, holding and letting go. Threads, metal, and ribbons move like lines of memory — not simply as materials, but as gestures searching for balance, for anchorage within movement.
Jewelry becomes a quiet territory of intimacy. Worn close to the body, it speaks softly, before language, before understanding. Its meaning is not declared; it lingers, suggested rather than explained.
