Primordial aspects, archaic, organic and imperfect textures, combinations of strong and unexpected colors, reverse approach in the modus operandi where the design is more guided by the process than by a precise initial design except for a few projects, I love to be transported in the processing, in the assemblage with different and unusual solutions.

Bio
Stephania Curreli (PhaniaC ) was born in Bologna (Italy) in '72 and is an Italian designer who has worked for almost twenty years as an assistant to Antonio Marras and other brands specialized in knitwear and accessories. Since COVID she has started to take her first steps in artistic ceramics as a self-taught, with some workshops by DiLuca Ceramics and Luca Tripaldi. In the last two years she has experimented with metals, resins, paper and plastic recycling, finalizing her work on unique pieces and sculptures in which different materials play and dialogue with each other. These works have already led her to several exhibitions, first at Artistar in 2023 at the Milan Jewellery week selected and awarded by the Carlo Lucidi Gallery where she subsequently exhibited a selection of pieces at the Nexus exhibition in 2024, last exhibition in December 2024 at ClusterContemporary jewellery.
Her inspiration comes from Sardinia, the island where she now lives, giving her a stylistic key of modern cosmopolitan freedom. His continuous search for new forms, connections and techniques defines his unique style, characterized by the imperfection that makes each piece unique and by the air of lived experience, with a primitive and archaic quality that is found in all his creations. The contemporary jewelry vein consequently arrives at the approach with the unconventional and academic material but self-taught from the experimental approach in the forms, unusual combinations of materials.
Statement
The jewel as a three-dimensional blank canvas does not differ much from what I have created for a lifetime in knitwear where color combinations, textures, volumes, finishes are fundamental and alchemical to create an interesting and captivating piece here with the only small big difference in the materials used that must be tested, explored, assembled each with its own characteristics to be respected. I love the idea that from a shapeless mass such as clay, a polymer or a metal wire you can create a wearable object that merges with the personality of the wearer.I see this personal experience in contemporary jewelry as a new form of expression for me, with which to send messages, without too many patterns that the fashion industry has imposed on me for years. A free, introspective path (I work alone in the open Sardinian countryside) as well as spiritual because I let the deep and intimate connection with the Absolute Creator of the Universe flow. I am then moved to see my pieces being one with the people who wear them, it is as if a part of me goes, leaves me and connects elsewhere but at the same time empties, makes room for what is new to be born. Almost all my pieces are unique, they transmit the moment in my pieces fruit of thoughts, inspirations, sensations, feelings, time spent together. The wild and wonderful nature of my island is a constant source of unconscious inspiration, I work mainly today with stoneware and porcelain, brass, copper, textures, cold enamels, with a careful eye on the sustainability of materials such as paper, plastics and recycled textile industry, I often create contrasts or balances following a form of personal harmony.
