Artist list
Yajie Hu, Koen Jacobs, Jongseok Lim
However diverse the paths of the three artists may seem, a common element emerges: reworking, indeed recreating, one or more technical materials, to make a wearable microcosm.
The difference of form and effects brings to mind the three categories, Naturalia, Artficialia and Mirabilia, of the Wunderkammern, cabinets of curiosities of sixteenth-century collectors, the idea from which modem museums would later develop.
/ Maria Cristina Bergesio, from the text for the catalogue.
The Preziosa Young competition, reserved for emerging artists who carry out their research in the field of goldsmith research, was born in 2008 as part of the Preziosa event, dedicated to the world of contemporary jewelery (www.preziosa.org).
The aim of the initiative is to contribute to the promotion of new generations of goldsmiths/designers/artists and to the dissemination of their activity.
An international jury composed of curators, artists and critics, selects a small number of participants from all those who presented their candidacies, which for the 2019 edition were 147 application, coming from all over the world.
