Spompanadln continues a series of exhibitions dedicated to contemporary Austrian art jewellery. The project follows Lückenfüller - curated by Ela Nord - first shown in Vienna and later presented during Munich and New York Jewellery Week.
Now continued by NOD - Not Only Decoration, the exhibition builds on this foundation and brings together a range of current Austrian positions.

The title Spompanadln, an Austrian colloquial term associated with excess, exaggeration, unnecessary effort or playful deviation, serves as an open framework for diverse interpretations. The exhibited works approach this notion not as mere nonsense, but as a conscious artistic strategy: as resistance to norms, as overstatement, as a refusal of functional or aesthetic expectations, and as a space for ambiguity and contradiction.
The exhibition features works by artists living and working in Austria as well as Austrian artists abroad. The selection was made through an open call and a curated jury process, ensuring a broad range of generations, practices and artistic approaches.
Opening: Wednesday 04.03.2025 18.00 - 21.30
