Organization and Information Eva Sarnowski

This special exhibition run by the Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen mbH is the eldest exhibition of contemporary jewellery work in the world. It takes place since 1959 every year during the International Trade Fair ( IHM ) in March. In one of the fair's pavillions, it is organised as a special show, i.e. a special exhibition off the normal service of the fair inside a special exhibition architecture. One of a kind jewellery of about 60 artists from 25 countries will be shown on a space of 300 m2. At the same time, one chosen work from every participant is presented in a catalogue.
The three most challenging contributions will be selected by an international jury for the Herbert Hofmann Prize. The prize was created in 1973 by the organization of the fair to honour the memory of Dr. Herbert Hofmann the founder of the special exhibition. Prize winners will again be published in the following year's catalogue.

The application is free and should include high quality colour photos of the selected exhibits and a curriculum vitae. The submission should not be older than two years. Please note that we only exhibit wearable jewellery (no package, text, photographs or installations).
The selection for Schmuck 2005 is made by an internationally known personality of applied arts. The decision about the entry to Schmuck'2005 will be reaching you until the end of November 2004. In the case of selection we will forward at the same time the conditions of participation.

If you were interested to participate in the competition you can get all detail information from the Handwerkskammer für München und Oberbayern.
