Intro
Artist statement: “For millennia, flowers have been used to adorn humankind. My work seeks to reciprocate this simple action.  Each piece comes apart to be earrings, a brooch or pendant.  The wearer, as in nature, can pluck the flower head from the stem and put it in their ear, or button hole.  A simple ritual but one which goes to the essence of jewellery.”
Christopher Thompson Royds is an artist and jeweller of international renown, whose work is included in several prominent collections in Europe and the US, including the Victoria & Albert Museum; UK, CODA Museum; NL, Schmuckmuseum; DE, National Museum Zurich; CH, and Museum of Fine Art Houston; US, Rotasa Collection Trust; US.  He is represented by, Maya Frodeman Gallery, USA, Louisa Guinness Gallery, UK and Galerie Marzee, NL, and with them regularly shows in these countries, as well as at fairs such as Collect, PAD, Design Miami.  His work has been featured in Vogue, the Financial Times, Town & Country, the Telegraph, amongst others.

Christopher has an MA in Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery from the Royal College of Art, London, prior to which he studied at London Metropolitan University.  He first became passionate about making jewellery while at school, and attributes his interest in nature - and the depiction of it in his work - to his upbringing in the English countryside.
