Learn the ancient technique of silversmithing by raising a copper beaker in this four-day intensive course at JamFactory with the artist Gretal Ferguson.
Students will learn to raise a flat copper disc into a vessel by compressing and forming the metal with hammers and steel stakes. All materials are supplied including a 150 mm x 1 mm copper disc for forming your beaker. All skill levels are welcome from complete beginners to experienced jewellers; please note that the forming process takes time and requires repetitive hammering.
