Studio Squina located in the centre of Madrid, founded by Gimena Caram and Sandra Pampin on 20th April 2016, was born as a Jewellery School-Workshop and is the natural result of the passion and energy which are two feels about the design, creative processes and techniques. The Studio offers regular courses in jewellery design and techniques, short course and technical and conceptual workshops with guest professors. In the new space, exhibitions and events are organized to promote contemporary jewellery, art and design, with the aim of creating a meeting place between designers, artists and audiences.
Gimena and Sandra need to create a meeting place, to spark dialogues between contemporary jewellery, art and design. They need to expose and confront their workshop as a place of debate between artisans and audiences; to attract the curious to understand the techniques, the processes of experimentation and design, as well as offer a small window to show not only the pieces but also their trade; They also needed to create a meeting place with other jewellers and creators, to discuss, communicate and generate content that could be an opportunity to promote reflection and debate on design, art and crafts. These two designers, also jewellers with different formations and visions in the form and approach to the works, are delighted to share workshop and projects and want to attract more and more people who want to promote art, crafts and design in Madrid.
