Nicolas Christol

Bio

Nicolas holds a degree in photography from CEPV in Vevey city and initially developed a practice spanning performance and installation. In 2006, he co-founded the collective Einzweidrei, through which they organised around twenty contemporary art exhibitions and ran the exhibition space Emergency for five years. Since 2018, his work has focused on art jewellery as my primary medium. In 2021, he co-founded the exhibition space Borax.

Statement

I am interested in political jewellery, military decorations, fascist jewellery, activist jewellery, and pieces that are dangerous or unstable. I have an unfortunate tendency to melt, break, explode, dull, or pierce things that should not be altered.
My statement is: fuck high jewellery.
