Statement
Shirly Bar-Amotz uses a variety of materials to create narrative jewelry and objects. Her concepts are sometimes driven from the materials themselves and from various craft processes. She creates a fascinating dialogue between precious and non-precious materials with combinations such as plastic, porcelain, rubber, gold silver and enamel often found in one piece.Cultural strata, the political context, and Israel's reality as seen through her eyes, are all reflected in her works.
