The JOYA awards ceremony was held yesterday at “Artesanía Catalunya de la Generalitat”, where it was awarded the best individual artists and students, who despite the current circumstances, have created collections with a high level of design.

Respecting the government's recommendations, the awards ceremony was online, bringing together the artists and followers of JOYA worldwide, chaired by Paulo Ribeiro, Director of the Fair, and accompanied by the General Director of Commerce, Muntsa
Vilalta.
JOYA AWARD
The winner of the 12th edition of JOYA has been the Korean artist, Namkyung Lee with her collection Image Space, a series of brooches turned into image containers, a personal collection of the past, the present, and the future. The artist will be the guest of the next edition, also she will take part in the circuit of fairs and events as a representative of JOYA Barcelona 2021.
DOR MUSEUM AWARD
Since last year the DOR Museum has rewarded an artist, acquiring one piece for the museum's permanent collection. This year the winner was the Spanish artist Chama Navarro, who has already been the winner and representative of the Association of Contemporary Goldsmith and Jewellery Designers of Spain. Her work is handmade, made with sustainable, ecological, and environmentally friendly materials, she combines different materials, experimenting with organic shapes and textures.
MYDAYBYDAY AWARD
The Italian Gallery Mydaybyday, awarded the Polish artist Malgozarta Kalinska and her collection Intentionality and non-Intentionality. The artist studied the role of chance in the creative process and how the relationship between intuition and consciousness is translated into materiality and human spirituality.
PREMI DE RESIDÈNCIA DTERRA D'OBJECTES ARTESANALS
Dterra awarded Yaiza Rodriguez, student of the Escola Massana from Barcelona, for her collection A Tientas, a collection of pieces that emerge from the skin, that connect the shapes of the body, inviting us to explore them and create complex sensory experiences.
IAA AMBER AWARD
The awards for the students were in charge of the International Amber Association, which this year chose Yu-Chen Tseng from The National Taiwan University of Arts for the brooch On the road 2. The award consists of the provision of amber material to create a new collection to be exhibited at Amber Gallery in Poland.
ARTE Y JOYA AWARD
The winner of the Arte y Joya International Award 2020-2021 is Ana Margarida Carvalho (Portugal) with the piece Paradisum #69. The winner of this edition will have a widely coverage in Arte y Joya’s online communication channels, as well as a publication of an article in the newspaper Contraste. The winner also gets a trophy designed by the sculptor Fili Plaza. Along with the works of the 32 finalists, the winner’s work will be also published in the printed yearbook of Arte y Joya 2020-2021.
