A grain of sand trapped in an oyster shell undergoes a long process of polishing and becomes a pearl. The pearly luster is formed by the accumulation of time and life; it embodies the tangible and the intangible, stillness and movement; it merges process with outcome; and it remains in a constant state of “transformation."

THE CLOSER GALLERY was founded in Beijing in 2017. As the longest-standing professional private contemporary jewelry art gallery in China, it promotes contemporary jewelry culture by integrating academic, artistic, and commercial aspects. It has independently planned and organized 28 solo exhibitions featuring domestic and international jewelry artists and 10 comprehensive contemporary jewelry exhibitions.
