Intro
ENJOIA’T Contemporary Jewelry Award is an open call that has taken place every year since 1994 and prizes remarkable, contemporary jewellery creations. It is an important meeting of professional and student jewellers from all over the world, which occurs during Barcelona Jewelry Week. ENJOIA’T rewards originality, technical quality, conceptual richness and transgression in the field of jewellery. Due to high international participation, ENJOIA’T has become a window for new trends from different cultural perspectives.

ENJOIA’T is an international open call addressed to students and professional jewellers.
Each author can present either one piece or a collection. In the case of being selected, the organization will decide the extension of the collection in its exhibition. All documents presented at the registration form will be considered for the selection.


REGISTRATION
More than one registration per person will not be permitted. The jewel presented must not have been created before 01.01.2019. Materials, size and concept are open.
The Project Sheet must be attached on the registration form.

In order to participate at ENJOIA’T 2021 Awards participants should accept these guidelines.


INSCRIPTION FEE
A-FAD members: Professional Award: free; Student Award*: free.
FAD members, FAAOC members, KLIMT02 members and JOYA Fair 2021 participants: Professional Award: 55 €; Student Award*: 25 €.
Non-members: Professional Award: 75 €; Student Award*: 30 €.

*Studies accreditation is necessary. Students have to attach a certificate to the registration form that demonstrates the participant is currently studying or has finished in June 2019.

Each participant must pay transfer commissions and shipping costs of the parcel.  


CALL PHASES
First Phase:

The Jury will select the pieces that will be included in the ENJOIA’T exhibition from all of the information received from the participants. The exhibition will take place from September in Room B of the Design HUB building, Barcelona, floor 0.

Selected participants should deliver their jewelry before 30 July 2021:
– Directly to the office by the previous appointment, in person at the A-FAD office (Plaza de las Glorias Catalanas, 37-38, 08018 Barcelona Floor -1. (info@a-fad.org, T. 93 25 66 776/ 93 25 66 777)
– Shipping to: “A- FAD, Artistas y Artesanos del FAD” to the address Plaza de las Glorias Catalanas, 37-38, 08018 Barcelona. From 9 am to 6 pm.

Second Phase:
Selected participants must tape a video, up to 5 minutes long, explaining the piece and its creation process. Videos longer than 5 minutes will not be accepted and will invalidate the participation.
To avoid unnecessary travels and crowds in the current pandemic context, the defense of the pieces before the jury will NOT be held in person. The jury will evaluate the selected works through the exhibited pieces and the videos sent by the participants.
The jury will announce the deliberation of the ENJOIA'T 2021 Awards at the beginning of October.


CATEGORIES AND PRIZES
Professional Award
There will be only one winner and a maximum of two finalists.
The winner will be crowned with a piece made by Ruud Peters, winner of the ENJOIA’T Professional Award 2019, and will be given the responsibility to make the crown for the following year. This crown will join the ENJOIA’T Crown Collection.
The prize is of a booth at JOYA, Barcelona Contemporary Jewelry Fair 2022, valued 800 euros and accommodation for 3 days in Barcelona for foreign jewellers.
Design Museum of Barcelona promotes cultural and artistic heritage investigation, preservation, and communication. That is why the Professional Category ENJOIA’T 2021 winner piece will be incorporated on the Museum equity fund, subject to the agreement of the winner.

Student Award
There will be only one winner and a maximum of two finalists.
The winner will be symbolically crowned with a piece made by Eva Fortuño, winner of the ENJOIA’T Student Award 2019, and will be given the responsibility to make the crown for the following year.
The prize is of a booth at JOYA, Barcelona Contemporary Jewelry Fair 2022, valued 800 euros and accommodation for 3 days in Barcelona for foreign jewellers.

Opinion Award
There will be only one winner among all the candidates.
The result will be decided according to the votes received on the organization's social networks. The voting format will be specified later.
The winner will be crowned by a jewel designed by a student from the Escola Municipal d'Art Arsenal.
Winners and finalists of each category will receive a certificate.

The jury of ENJOIA'T 2021 will be as follows:

The jury's decision will be final.
