Intro
Discover how to create the perfect halo effect for rub-over set stones in this one-day course with goldsmith, setter, engraver and enameller Harry Forster-Stringer. You’ll learn the fundamentals of rub-over setting using air tools and microscopes, focusing on classic round and oval shapes.
Rub-over setting requires precision, balancing stone security, metal control and a flawless finish. This course builds confidence in micro-setting techniques and refines your use of air tools, making it an ideal progression from earlier training.
It is followed by Rub-Over Setting with Air Tools (Part 2), which explores more complex shapes including pear, princess and emerald cuts.
