Sturdy and solid, tactile and dynamic, overwhelming and imposing, subtle and poignant. Paper is a relatively simple material, the endless possibilities and expressive power of which are shown by artists and designers in baffling and dynamic or in moving and subtle ways. After a highly successful edition in 2015, CODA Museum Apeldoorn presents CODA Paper Art 2017 from 5 June to 29 October inclusive. The exhibition puts visual art made on and of paper centre stage. CODA Paper Art 2017 brings together the work of over thirty artists from the Netherlands and abroad in an impressive exhibition. Ten of them created new works specifically for CODA Paper Art 2017.
Paper amazes and inspires. The strength of paper is unique and versatile. Beauty and rich colouring go hand in hand with themes like sustainability, current issues and innovation. CODA's transparent, open building offers fantastic potential for installations and large spatial works. In the run-up to CODA Paper Art 2017, a number of artists have developed concepts for sometimes even larger-than-life sculptures and installations to fill this space.
