Mihaela Coman. Brooch: Concrete Head Old Lady, 2019. Bronze, brass, concrete.. 8.2 x 6.5 cm. Photo by: Mihaela Coman.
. Mihaela Coman is a narrative jeweller, she’s interested in people and she’s inspired by literature and history. She retells stories through figurative and sculptural jewellery.
. Empowered by the freedom of expression that jewellery can offer, she hopes that her work is an authentic, sincere and honest expression of her ideas and emotions.
. Her Major Project consists of a collection of narrative jewellery made with conventional techniques and tools, which describes the atmosphere and the daily life during communism as she experienced and researched it.
. Mihaela recreates the communist atmosphere using symbols of the daily life: the queues for goods, the bags as permanent accessory, the buildings, the concrete apartment blocks, the books, which would act as an escape at the time and the people, in their most common hypostasis, randomly walking down streets carrying a bag, obsessed with finding some food.
. Making jewellery that stands for people’s life stories makes sense to her.. Mihaela Coman

Anna Pegg. Sculpture: Changing Perspective, 2019. Steel. Photo by: Anna Pegg. From series: Changing Perspective.
. Anna works with metal to create a range of pieces inspired by nature, pattern and movement. She is fascinated with metal and how it transforms when heated from a cold, hard material into a malleable one that allows her to create organic, free flowing forms that bring the metal to life. She mainly uses hand-forging techniques as well casting and fabrication to create functional and sculptural pieces for the home and garden.
. Anna’s current work is experimenting with space and the landscape, creating sculptural pieces that are designed to intrigue the viewer and play with their perception.. Anna Pegg

Samantha Dewar English. Vessel: The Fragility of Memory, 2019. Brass, copper, silver, silver plate.. Photo by: Samantha Dewar English. From series: The Fragility of Memory.
. Memories are scattered and frayed at the edges, they are at the mercy of our emotions and desires. They carry the complexity and weight of our own narratives.  Exploration can be laboured, fractured and fragile.  It brings forth glimpses of a past eroded by time and emotion.
. Through the making of the Memory Vessels and the treatment of the metals, Samantha explores and captures the fragility, decay and preciousness of memories.
. The vessels are made through a practice of forming and etching, selective cleaning, sanding and polishing before the introduction of oxidisation, plating and entombment with wax.
. Differences in the scale, grouping and the complexities of the treatment of the metals reflect the hierarchy and importance we place on our memories.
. The vessels, through both the process of making and their final form, wane between the uncontrollable and the controlled; they are both captured and destroyed.. Samantha Dewar English

Shuo Gao. Brooch: Relationship Between Emotional Expression, 2019. Ceramics. Photo by: Shuo Gao. From series: Emotional Expression.
. My work is about the complicated relationship between emotional expression and the external world, which are interdependent and conflict with each other.
. I use hard and cold materials to make an emotional "container." This container can be seen as an external environment or a person's inner world, and can also be thought of as a unified ideology and social norm. It is the power to confine emotions and shape emotions. The emotions inside are eager to be expressed but have to be partially hidden. There is a conflict between them. The wearer's body can feel the confrontation when the work is worn.. Shuo Gao

Wallace Regelous. Pendant: Golden Thimble Tears, 2019. Silver, bronze, copper.. 2 x 0.2 x 5.6 cm. Photo by: Wallace Regelous. From series: Once upon a Thimble.
. Wallace Regelous creates unique designs that often have playful and tactile elements combined with subtle movements to engage active contact with the pieces - adding hidden visual elements, creating a duality in adornments encouraging interaction and tactile experience to connect to the wearer. As an artist-jeweller, Wallace’s work explores a mixed media approach through traditional handmade processes.  These methods enable the artist to create individual textures, layers and kinetics in each design.  Wallace enjoyed focussing on found objects, specifically thimbles to create small scale adornments for the final project.  Wallace enjoys the practical aspects of creating, being at her workbench, and seeing the results as they materialise.
. Viewing her work as tiny beacons that shine and keep some of the darkest days at bay, she finds it a real joy to share the light they inspire.. Wallace Regelous
