Bio

Yichen Dong is a partner of jewellery brand A-D-JUST and also a contemporary jewellery artist based in Shanghai currently. She graduated with a Master degree in Jewellery and Metal at Royal College of Art in 2020 and a Bachelor of Arts in Jewellery Design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in 2018. Her work has won the Martanovak Jewellery Symposium Award in Hungary, and she was a finalist for the Bright Young Gem and High Creative Excellence Award in UK. Her designs have been exhibited at ‘Schmuck Munchen’, Munich Jewellery Week, Milan Fashion Week, Athens Jewellery Week, London Fashion Week, Barcelona JOYA, and Marzee Gallery, etc.

I draw inspiration from the overlooked details of daily life, transforming traditional jewellery forms and materials to explore the meaning and value of objects. I am interested in conceptual play, redefining materials to uncover unexpected visual metaphors, turning wearable art into a medium for dialogue between me and wearers. By weaving personal stories with cultural themes, my creations prompt reflection on societal norms through irony, material contrasts, and reimagined symbols. As the designer and partner of brand A-D-JUST, I have been keeping pursuing the balance between contemporary and commercial jewellery.
