For four days the historic centre of the city of Valencia will become a contemporary jewellery stage where prestigious national and international jewellers will show their work alongside students from EASD Valencia. In addition, we have the privilege of hosting the exhibition Schmuck 2023 which showcases the world’s most creative and avant-garde jewels.

Melting Point Valencia is an alternative to the traditional concept of a trade fair and it includes exhibitions, conferences, workshops, performances and activities related to jewellery, crafts and contemporary design, with a marked cultural, educational, public and nonprofit character.

The objective of Melting Point 2023 is to promote contemporary jewellery as a form of innovative expression and to position this Valencian art internationally. Exhibitions have been organised at the National Museum of Ceramics González Martí, Centro del Carme Cultura Contemporània, Centre d’Artesanía de la Comunitat Valenciana, Los Baños Arabes del Almirante, Centro Cultural la Nau, Centre de Octubre and EASD Valencia.

In addition to the main event, there will be an Off Programme which will include more exhibitions and activities hosted in workshops such as Fabrika12 and Pepe March's as well as local galleries and small spaces in the city centre. EASD Valencia will also host a critical debate through a cycle of conferences given by groups, jewellers, collectors and world-renowned experts.

This year’s collaborating organisations are Instituto Superior de Enseñanzas Artísticas CV., Escola Superior Disseny València, D.G. de Cultura, Empresas joyeras, Ajuntament de València, Handwerkskammer für München und Oberbayern (Munich and Upper Bavaria’s Chamber of Crafts) and the Danner Foundation, Munich.
