Liqi Chen. Necklace: Qishan·Beiming, 2018. Silver, paper.. 30 x 30 x 3 cm. The phoenix tweet in Qishan and fish exist in the Beiming.The inspiration comes from the phoenix and the Kunpeng which turns into bird from fish in the Chinese ancient tales of legendia. The feather of the phoenix and the squama of the Kunpeng are the sources of inspiration in my work. Extract them out and make regular arrangements repeatedly. The different and rhythmed beauty of rhythm is produced. Red and blue are the theme of my work.. Liqi Chen

Intro
Charming Colors, the graduation exhibition of undergraduates who majored in jewelry and metal design started on May 28, 2018 in China Academy of Art. Tutors of undergraduates are Professor Lan Zhang and Professor Xianou Ni. The undergraduates showed the texture of comprehensive materials by using the various materials. They combined the charming colors with metalworking skills in order to create more possibilities.

Xi Chen. Object: Hurdle and Shadow, 2018. Black walnut, resin, silver.. 16.8 x 22 x 13.5 cm. The theme of the work is the stilt style architecture. I choose the existing stilt style architecture——the stilted building in western Hunan as the element. Extract the most representative characteristics(the water lifting) of the stilted building by deconstruction. Therefore, extract the stilted building and the reflection together to design.. Xi Chen

In society and life, there are many eyes in the society and life, whether Street monitoring or pedestrian eye or virtual social. The nine purpose unit of the work is the source of the eye, the whole unit is complex and the sense of weight, the vision of the eye is specific, and the communication between people and people can not be avoided. Inspired by the idea of Timothy Morton towards ecology, it hopes to re-establish the connection between human and nonhuman beings. Furthermore, it wishes that some community will give up the concept that human beings are more important than other lives. With the use of interaction in jewelry and the animal inspiration after being worn, the work leads human beings to switch angles in order to experience other biological dynamics and inspires the wearer to think about the connection between human and ecology.. The designer combined the flowing lines formed by twisting and the gap between the lines as the elements of the creation. Using the way of superposition to do the simple but rigorous repetition on the elements. It is able to extend the line and create the sense of space. After the mankind is civilized, they know that they should cover the body with various materials so as to cover up one’s embarrassment and protect oneself. During the Middle Ages, people protected themselves from the knife and sword by weaving heavy and inconvenient armour. Nowadays, people put on different kinds of clothes in order to protect themselves from the different environment and the eyes of others. Although the materials are different, the two things have some relationship to each other. My work wants to explore the possibilities between armour and clothes by metal different lines and finally reveal the inner link.. Siliang Long
