Since its founding in Lappeenranta in 2005, the Finnish Jewellery Art Association (Korutaideyhdistys) has been active in organising exhibitions, training, presentations and discussions, as well as sharing information about the field.
The Finnish Jewellery Art Association is a professional organisation that has, for 20 years, advanced the recognition of jewellery art while supporting the internationalisation and professional growth of its members. It is a membership-based association with activities both in Finland and abroad.
Since its founding in Lappeenranta in 2005, the association has been active in organising exhibitions, training, presentations and discussions, as well as sharing information about the field.
The association organizes recurring events such as the international jewellery triennial KORU and the annual spring art sales at the Cable Factory in Helsinki. It collaborates with both national and international art museums, educational institutions, and other cultural organizations.
In addition, the association maintains a jewellery collection and, together with the South Karelian Artists’ Association, runs the gallery space at the Art Centre Itä in Lappeenranta. In recognition of its contributions to the field, the Jewellery Art Association received the State Prize for Design in 2019.
The Finnish Jewellery Art Association has been collecting jewellery art since 2008. The collection is based on donations from its members, but is also built up through acquisitions. The collection documents domestic jewellery art and currently contains more than 130 works. The collection includes classic works from the 1980s by the long career Eila Minkkinen, works by Finnish jewellery pioneer Olli Tamminen, but also works by talented young people who have graduated in recent years. The collection is available for loan, for example, to museums.

In November 2018, the Jewellery Art Guide was produced by The Finnish Jewellery Art Association with the support of Taike and can be downloaded free of charge from the association's website. It offers an accessible introduction to jewellery art as a field and art form. It outlines key themes and contexts and provides practical tips for engaging with jewellery art.
