Intro
An overview of the works, the most significant in the evolution of the project over the years exhibiting Selected and new Works from 2011 to 2017 together with the Torre Fornello Award Collection and some of the works by the Guest Artists.

Gioielli in Fermento is an international exhibition project and award for contemporary studio jewelry. Starting from the landscapes of Italy in the winemaking region of Emilian hills, it opens its borders involving established and emerging artists from every country to express their relation with the wine world.
Inspiration, dedication, experience, research, innovation, observation, choice, challenge ...
These are all elements of the creative approach that we can use to focus both on the activities of a jewellery artist or on those of a winemaker, they constitute a similar reading of their works: both a piece of jewellery or a sip of wine are evocative of the individual interpretation of the raw material chosen by their maker. In both cases the aim is turning the natural into something precious and unique. Since 2011, six editions, more than 300 artists and pieces has been presented under the selection of an international board of advisors in the field. With the kind collaboration of AGC Italian Contemporary Jewelry Association, Charon Kransen Arts, Klimt02 network, Joya Barcelona and Torre Fornello Winery.

Introduction to the Collection.
I am glad to introduce the Master Collection of works from Gioielli in Fermento (editions 2011-2017). The works illustrated in the new catalogue represent an anthology of pieces the most significant in the evolution of the project over the years.
There are three sections, to highlight how the project developed since the beginning, celebrating through 6 editions the Torre Fornello Awarded Artists, involving a number of Guest Artists and showing a collection of Selected Works by Artists coming from all over the world.
A heartfelt thanks goes to all the artists who have been following the project for years, matching their work with all those fermenting inspirations driven by Gioielli in Fermento. A heartfelt thanks goes moreover to the experts that accepted to have an accurate look to the pieces, discussing around the best critical approach and finally showing a shared idea of quality in the field of studio jewellery. / Eliana Negroni

Torre Fornello Award.
Between 2011 and 2016 eleven artists have been awarded with Premio Torre Fornello, founded with the support of Enrico Sgorbati, who hosts every year the opening of the exhibition in the amazing Stables of Torre Fornello Winery. The awarded artists earned the individual participation to JOYA International Art Jewellery Fair in Barcelona, where every year in October new collections and art jewelry trends are presented to the audience of experts, galleries, collectors and passionates .

Few words about the cover and the choice of identifing this anthology of works with Rust, the ring by Gigi Mariani, winner of the 2011 Torre Fornello Award. In that first edition three works had been awarded, emblematically representing that kind of “fermenting” approach. They were greeted by a warm atmosphere of the audience and a very typical landscape area, able to transmit - and it has been seen in later years - a certain approach to work, similar to different fields: a defined communication of the artistic language and a socio-cultural aspect of conviviality which put together public, artists and the world of wine.

In that work by Mariani a summary of action, excitement, soil, material is contained and expressed in a shape and a structure that may be both ancestral and contemporary.

The interpretation of the cover by designer Federico Babina, starting from the Rust ring, recalls all pieces of jewellery in collection, specially conceived for Gioielli in Fermento, as a synthesis towards a design concept which involves all of them.
