2017:
Exhibition  10 Nov 2017 - 09 Dec 2017  Karin Johansson.

The work of Karin Johansson is difficult to describe. It holds lightness and weight, playfulness and gravity, spontaneity and carefully balanced planning. What appears to be a two-dimensional stylized butterfly shape may on closer examination reveal an impressive depth. The wings carry a detailed pattern and if you take it in your hand, you discover that it is not a fragile insect, but a solid metal object. A colourful necklace around someone's neck, slows down when it is taken off, and when it hangs on a wall it becomes a poetic work of art. Since 2007 Karin Johansson works as a professor at the Academy of Design and Craft in Göteborg.

Exhibition  06 Oct 2017 - 04 Nov 2017  Tanel Veenre.

Estonian artist Tanel Veenre is one of the brightest stars in the jewellery universe. He brings up creatures from the depths of the oceans and covers them with a shimmer from distant galaxies. Tanel Veenre combine musical tones with aesthetics and poetry, creating a magical, magnetic world that attracts and captivates. Veenre also works as a professor of the Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn.

Exhibition  01 Sep 2017 - 30 Sep 2017  Mia Maljojoki.

Mia Maljojoki is born and raised in Finland but since many years she lives and work in Munich. Her work provides a direct and spontaneous expression. At first glance they may even seem random, but the composition is balanced and carefully planned. Well-directed but unpredictable processes are refined with intuition and long artistic experience. Maljojoki combine strong colours and shapes with an elegance that creates harmony in a bold chaos.

Exhibition  12 May 2017 - 10 Jun 2017  Yojae Lee.

Insects are a classic motif through out the history of jewellery. Scarabs, butterflies and dragonflies in precious metals covered in diamonds, emeralds and sapphires, are swarming all over. Also in the contemporary jewellery world insects are a reoccurring theme; Georg Doblers’ beetles in silver, Marta Mattsson's cicada pieces and the brooches by Karin Johansson’s that forms an impressive collection of butterflies. The insects made by South Korean artist Lee Yojae have a size that changes the relationship to the wearer. The robotic creatures is both captivating and terrifying. By mixing different types of metals and leather Lee creates artwork that will capture you both figuratively and literally.

Exhibition  10 Apr 2017 - 08 May 2017  Fragments.

In April 2017 Carina Shoshtary and Attai Chen will be coming to Göteborg for an artist in residence at Konstepidemin. During one month they will work together with the Göteborg based artists Hanna Liljenberg, Karin Roy Andersson, Sanna Svedestedt Carboo and Åsa Christensson. The project will be shown and partly executed at Four. The objective is to exchange ideas and experience. The exhibition will also include open discussions where the audience is welcome to participate.

Exhibition  17 Mar 2017 - 08 Apr 2017  Benjamin Lignel.

The majority of Four’s artists would probably say that the hands are their most important tools, but in Benjamin Lignel’s case the head plays a more prominent role. With an intermittently sharp, but often also affectionate humour, Lignel comments on appearance, body image, jewellery and what it symbolizes. Since 2013 Benjamin Lignel is the editor of Art Jewelry Forum and he is well known on the contemporary jewellery scene both as artist, curator and writer. The exhibition at Four will show a retrospective over his 10year career.

Exhibition  17 Mar 2017 - 08 Apr 2017  Oh Boy by Benjamin Lignel.
Exhibition  03 Feb 2017 - 04 Mar 2017  Flóra Vági.

There are things we have no words for. Flóra Vági works in a language that is understood without words. She describes her pieces as 'newly dressed souls' and that is exactly what they are.
Flóra Vági works mostly in natural materials like paper or wood, but in her hands the materials develops into something new. It is like she is giving water to a seed that grows o be a tree or a flower, covering a worm in silk making it become a butterfly or putting a log on fire turning it into a black piece of coal. She finds and brings out the soul of the material, a new identity that it has been longing to obtain.
