Bio
I do not easily trust completed forms. What appears closed often feels provisional to me.
Some objects already carry the face of jewelry.
I ask how that face is constructed.
My work does not expand the surface.
It designs tension within.
Structures that may open,
be withdrawn,
and return.
An object may become an object again.
But once it has passed through operation,
it does not remain the same.
Form is an outcome.
I work with conditions.
Statement
A seed was buried. The soil promised nothing.
Leaves rose and grew.
People wondered
what kind of flower would appear.
No flower came.
Seasons turned.
The stem withered.
Time passed.
Then, once again,
leaves emerged.
A passing wind asked,
“What kind of flower are you?”
After a long while,
the leaves replied,
“I am not a flowering plant.”
The wind paused.
Somewhere,
the scent of earth rose.
